Matrix Sewage Treatment System Maintenance

A Matrix Sewage Treatment Plant provides an extremely safe, efficient, reliable and cost-effective solution to sewage disposal. All Matrix Sewage Treatment systems meet are fully tested and CE certified to BSEN12566-3, which is now a mandatory requirement, and exceed all Environment Agency and regulatory requirements for process efficiency and final effluent quality.
Matrix Sewage Treatment SystemsMaintenance for your Matrix Plant System is simple and safe because there are no mechanical components within the treatment plant, however, care must be taken with certain aspects of day-to-day living as this is generally a small private system, unlike major municipal works where there is significant dilution.

The Clenviro Matrix is a purely biological process which, while extremely efficient and resilient, can be adversely affected if you do not follow certain rules and recommendations, and also if you fail to correctly maintain and service your Sewage Treatment System.

Consideration needs to be given to what you put down the sink, toilet or drains. No wipes, nappies or sanitary items. Minimal use of cleaning products and disinfectants is recommended. Do not put paint, oil, chemicals, unused medicines down the drain.

In addition to the day-to-day recommendations, there are also regular checks and maintenance procedures to make to keep an eye on the smooth running of your sewage plant system and of course, you must arrange to have the unit properly de-sludged at the required intervals.

Responsibility for maintaining your Matrix Treatment Plant

As the owner of a Matrix Sewage Treatment you are entirely responsible for the operation of the treatment plant and for ensuring that the quality of the effluent does not breach the Environmental Permit Standards issued by the Environment Agency.

There are a number of regular checks you need to make on your treatment plant, primarily visual checks, and if the plant does not appear to be operating correctly it is advisable to call in a Sewage Treatment Plant Expert, such as ourselves for help in troubleshooting the problem.

There are several factors to consider when deciding the location for the installation of a new sewage treatment plant. A sewage treatment plant should be at least 7 metres away from a property, though, in some cases, a local authority may require a greater distance. It is also worth considering accessibility for servicing and desludging so it needs to have good proximity to a hardstanding for vehicular access. The soakaway should be a minimum of 10 metres from a watercourse, and ideally, the plant will be placed downhill from the property as gravity will support the treatment process.
